The Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act. Montana residents will now have online privacy rights, including the right to access, delete, and stop the sale of their personal information as well as opt out of being tracked through a single mechanism.  Read the bill here.

Senate Bill 507

Strengthened Montanan's tax appeal rights and clarified the tax appeal process. Allowed for taxpayers to pay delinquent taxes instead of having to pay all their current taxes first.  Read the bill here.

Senate Bill 540

Clarified Montana's tourism promotion laws and designated the Department of Commerce's tourism funds to include grants and revolving loans. Prioritized the promotion of rural and underserved areas of Montana.  Read the bill here.


2019 Legislative Session

House Bill 145

H 89-10, S 49-0

Removed the requirement that concealed carry holders contact their new county of residence’s law enforcement of their carry permit. This requirement was repealed because it was not enforced nor served any identifiable purpose. Read the bill here.

Prevented energy utilities from selling or sharing individual advanced meter energy data without consumer consent.  Read the bill here. 

House Bill 597

Reformed utility and energy planning laws, created competitive solicitation process and created a method to request hearings examiners for dockets. This was a comprehensive reform of energy policy. Read the bill here. 

House Bill 619

Implemented a method for Department of Labor, Higher Ed and the Superintendent of Public Instruction to share data to identify a correlation of workforce results and classroom results to identify necessary changes. The data must be protected and deleted. Read the bill here.

House Bill 207
