I want to not only keep Montana “the Last Best Place,” but also make Montana the best place for future generations to live and work.
I am in favor of policies that make it easier for businesses to employ Montanans and create made-in-Montana products. As a member of Montana’s House Tax Committee, I have witnessed the complexities of Montana’s tax code and how much pressure property taxes place on Montanan homes and businesses. I have opposed tax increases, and will continue to stand for simplifying the income tax code, as I have in previous sessions.
I also know for a fact that Montanans love their freedom. Most of my legislation has worked to better protect our constitutional rights. This includes proudly supporting our 2nd amendment rights, working to protect Montanan’s 4th amendment due process rights regarding technology and privacy, and passing leading 1st amendment legislation.
I believe competition makes our products, businesses and ourselves better. Montana could use a more competitive K-12 education system and school choice options would allow for this.
